BVG’s answer to smart mobility solutions is amongst others BerlKönig. Henry Widera (Leader Digitalisation) explains how ridesharing solutions complement public transport with individual offers. With that they are trying to make public transportation more attractive. Another goal within the course of a campaign called #BerlinSteigtUm is, to refine BVG as mobility platform.
Markus Huber (Leader Innovation) describes RMV’s approach to offer digital solutions for smart mobility. They are currently testing “RMVsmart” – a transparent tariff system. Users only have to pay the distance, they are actually covering – similar to a taxi ride.
In addition to that On Demand Services are complementing public transport and offer an ideally seamless mobility experience. Expert in that area is iOki. Dr. Michael Barillère-Scholz (CEO) explains how they are optimising this service as pioneer of autonomous driving.
Mobimeo CEO Kalle Greven emphasizes that public transportation should be fun to use. Fun, reliability and simplicity. With these three factors covered, we have a chance to reduce the importance of private cars. He is happy to hear the different approaches of the panelists. If the industry is working together, he is convinced that congested streets will soon belong to a memory of the past.
