Mobimeo and FAIRTIQ launch new “Check-in ticket” function for S-Bahn Stuttgart

Berlin/Stuttgart, 26 October 2022 - In the latest version of the Mobility Stuttgart app, Mobimeo GmbH (Mobimeo), as the developer of the underlying Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, and FAIRTIQ AG (FAIRTIQ), as the technology partner for the public transport ticketing solution, have added a new check-in/check-out function for public transport tickets in the Stuttgart region. As of now, users are no longer required to buy a single ticket; they simply have to check in and check out using the app when starting and ending their journey.

Mobimeo has been operating the Mobility Stuttgart app on behalf of S-Bahn Stuttgart since 2018. It combines all the advantages of connected mobility for people in the Stuttgart region in a single application. The new function means that passengers no longer have to worry about having the right ticket for the respective tariff zone in the Stuttgart region, or whether a day ticket would be cheaper. The system automatically calculates the lowest price and provides the right digital ticket in the app, for example a day ticket when multiple journeys are involved. 

After the 9-euro ticket was made available in the Mobility Stuttgart app, check-in/check-out ticketing is another step towards providing the easiest possible access to public mobility. At the same time, Mobimeo is expanding the power of its MaaS platform with another key feature that offers users of the apps based on Mobimeo's platform even more convenient digital access to public transport tickets.
